I do do candid shots yes at the appropriate times such as arrival to the venue, ceremony, speeches, dancing and in between times.. Here is an example from the morning.

I will go around tables if time and ask for a photo as although people say they like candid. Candid is usually people with a miserable face and the back of peoples heads. Prompted is good if someone’s laughing etc I would focus on them. I will try get your guests for a posed photograph so they have a lovely momento from the day

I don’t share candid shots  on social media as I don’t have consent from each person therefore it doesn’t feel right. Especially of children even if bride and groom consent they don’t have individual consent.
